ComReal Team Displays Expertise with CCIM Designations

In the world of commercial real estate, ComReal’s team is full of experts in the field. With several members holding the prestigious professional designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), this team based out of South Florida is ready to serve clients with the highest level of skill and experience in the industry.

The CCIM designation is awarded to recognized leaders in commercial real estate after completing coursework in financial + market analysis, as well as negotiation, on top of demonstrated extensive experience in the industry. CCIM candidates must not only take courses on these subjects, but they must pass a comprehensive full-day exam that tests their mastery of the concepts, in addition to submitting a portfolio of qualifying experience for review as part of their application. Minimum requirements include three-plus qualifying activities totaling $30 million-plus; exactly 10 qualifying activities totaling $10 million; 20 qualifying activities with no dollar volume requirement. Though every professional’s track is slightly different, most candidates complete the requirements in one to three years. There are over 13,000 members that hold the most recognized commercial real estate designation worldwide.

ComReal’s Industrial Team has several members who have proven their expertise in helping clients minimize risk and make the most informed decisions when it comes to commercial real estate by earning their CCIM. Led by Ed Redlich, SIOR, CCIM, the team operates out of Doral and works specifically with clients in the commercial and industrial sectors of the industry. Ed earned his CCIM designation in 2003 and subsequently served as the 2008 President of CCIM’s Miami-Dade District Board of Directors, the same year that he was designated as an SIOR, or Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the most prestigious real estate group in the world.

Ed describes his experience after earning the CCIM. “The CCIM designation has allowed me to travel across the country to attend conferences and even across the world to learn more about the real estate industry globally. In 2007 alone, I toured Hong Kong, Japan, and China on the CCIM trade mission.”

Patricia Quintana has 33 years of experience in commercial real estate and earned her CCIM in 2003. She was ComReal’s first CCIM, and she is currently on the Board of CCIM’s Miami-Dade District.

“CCIM has opened so many doors in my career, and I am very thankful to ComReal, especially Steve, for pushing me in becoming a CCIM back in 2003.”

Edison Vasquez, another member of the Industrial Team, took a different route to get his CCIM in 2013. He earned his master’s degree in International Real Estate from Florida International University in 2008. Through this program, CCIM offered a fast track path, which waived three of the four classes required, leading him to earn his CCIM through that program. He has found the designation extremely beneficial to his career. “CCIM overall is a great designation to continue learning the business and to meet professionals across the country and the world.”

John Lonardo, CCIM is a member of the ComReal Coral Gables office, and he recently completed three net leased investment property sales out of state in Georgia and Mississippi with fellow CCIM’s for a 1031 Exchange client. He has served on the Miami-Dade/ Monroe Florida District Chapter Board of Directors for 14 years, acting at its Scholarship Chair assisting commercial real estate practitioners work toward the designation. John states that the benefits of the CCIM designation can be summarized in the acronym NET, Networking, Education, Technology.

He says, “Networking is perhaps the most important benefit. When you work with a fellow CCIM locally or nationally, you immediately speak the same language from a common experience.”

ComReal’s South Florida CCIMs also include Chris Spear, CCIM with ComReal’s Industrial Team, and Maria Agon McCarthy, CCIM in the ComReal Coral Gables office, who has also served on the Board of Directors for CCIM’s Miami-Dade District.

When it comes to leadership in the industry, ComReal can proudly state that clients are in the best hands with these experts in the industry who have earned their CCIM designation. The company believes so strongly about encouraging the education and empowerment of its professionals that ComReal will reimburse the expenses of CCIM classes for each employee who qualifies to pursue the program.
